Shelby is a passionate and energetic occupational therapist who has recently moved to Wilmington! Shelby is from Texas where she attended Texas Woman’s University to earn her Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology Degree. She then attended Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis to earn her Doctorate of Occupational Therapy in August of 2022. Shelby has experience working with children in the outpatient setting and school system, as well as adults in the acute, inpatient, outpatient, neurorehabilitation, and home settings.
As an occupational therapist, Shelby enjoys working with neurological, orthopedic, and pediatric populations. Shelby has completed advanced level coursework and is a Trained Pediatric Feeding Therapist through Feed the Peds® and is a Certified Autism Specialist (CAS). She loves getting to know each of her patients and their individual, unique needs. Shelby enjoys problem-solving to find creative ways for each of her patients to participate in activities that are meaningful to them!
Shelby also has a passion for volleyball and is a current coach for a local club team! When she is not working, she can be found reading books, enjoying time at the beach, and playing with her fur baby, Teddy. Shelby has enjoyed exploring Wilmington, meeting new people, and serving others in the community!
